Snail, c. 1912
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a snail entitled ‘L’Escargot’ by Albert Ernest Sanchez (French, born 1878). This bronze was produced using the lost wax process at the Hébrard Foundry, Paris. Prior to casting in the wax, it was signed and inscribed ‘A Sanchez’, ‘A. A. Hébrard Cire Perdue’. It has a dark brown and black patina with golden undertones.
