Cock and Hen, c. 1930
A good quality, twentieth century bronze pair of a ‘Cock and Hen’ by Simone Marye (French, 1890-1961). These sculptures were cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the Claude Valsuani Foundry, Paris. Before casting they were signed, stamped and numbered in the wax and both have a variagted green brown and gold patina.
