A Dog with a Bee, c. 1918

Edouard-Marcel Sandoz

A good quality, twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Dog with a Bee on its paw’ by Edouard-Marcel Sandoz (Swiss, 1880-1971). This sculpture was cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the Susse Foundry, Paris, France. Before casting it was signed and inscribed in the wax ‘Sandoz’ and ‘Susse Frs Eds Paris’ ‘Cire Perdue’ and bears the circular foundry stamp. This cast has a deep brown patina with black undertones.
