Maternal Joy, 1872-1878

Aimé Jules Dalou

A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model entitled ‘Buste de bébé endormi, étude pour Joie Maternelle ‘ by Jules Dalou (French, 1838 – 1902). This bronze was produced using the lost wax process at the Hébrard Gallery, Paris. Prior to casting in the wax, it was signed, inscribed and numbered. It has a warm brown patina with golden undertones.
