Eve a la Pomme, 1898-1899
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of ‘Eve and the Apple’ by Aristide Maillol (French, 1861 – 1944). This sculpture was cast in bronze by the sand casting process at the Alexis Rudier Foundry, Paris. It was signed and inscribed: ‘Aristide Maillol’, ‘Alexis Rudier Fondeur Paris’, and has a dark brown patina with reddy brown undertones.
