Théophile Alexandre Steinlen

A fine quality early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Sleeping Cat’ by Theophile Steinlen (Swiss, 1859-1923). This bronze was produced at using the lost wax process at the Hebard Foundry, Paris, circa 1900. Prior to casting in bronze it was signed, numbered and stamped in the wax ‘Steinlen’, ‘A. A. Hebrard Cire Perdue’. This model has a warm brown patina with golden undertones.
