A paperknife, Snail, 1942
A fine quality, mid-twentieth century silvered bronze model of a ‘Snail on a reed modelled as a paperknife’ by Edouard-Marcel Sandoz (Swiss, 1881-1971). This bronze was produced using the lost wax casting process at the Leblanc Barbedienne Foundry. Prior to casting it was signed and inscribed in the wax and has an unusual silvered patina with black undertones.
