Madame Mandarin, 1952

Edouard-Marcel Sandoz

A fine quality, rare, twentieth century silvered and gilded bronze model of a ‘Mardarin duck with Head Turned’, entitled ‘Madame Mandarin, Cane Mandarin, Tête Penchée’ by Edouard-Marcel Sandoz (Swiss, 1880-1971). This sculpture was cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the Robecchi Foundry, France. Before casting it was signed, dated and stamped in the wax. It has a silvered bronze patina with gilded highlights.
