Chimpanzee with Young, 1912

A rare, fine quality early twentieth century bronze of a ‘Chimpanzee with Young’ by Sirio Tofanari (Italian, 1886 – 1969). This bronze was cast using the lost wax process at the Marinelli foundry in Florence and is signed ‘S Tofanari’ and inscribed ‘Fuse Marinelli Firenze’. It has a warm brown patina with darker undertones.
