Turkish Horse, Right Leg Raised, c.1857

A fine quality, rare, mid nineteenth century atelier bronze model of a Turkish Horse with right leg raised on a rectangular base entitled ‘Cheval Turc’, by Antoine-Louis Barye, (French, 1796-1875). This bronze was cast using the sand casting process in the artist’s atelier, Paris. It is signed ‘BARYE’, and has a multi coloured ‘feuilles d’automne’ patina.
