Curled up Cat, c. 1905
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Curled up Cat’ by Theophile Alexandre Steinlen (Swiss, 1859 – 1923). This bronze was produced using the lost wax process at the Hebrard foundry, Paris. Prior to casting it was signed, inscribed and numbered in the wax and it has a warm brown patina with golden undertones.
