Aristide Maillol

A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of ‘Action in Chains’ by Aristide Maillol (French, 1861 – 1944). This sculpture was cast in bronze using the sand wax process probably by the Florentin Godard foundry, Paris. It was signed with the artist’s monogram ‘M’ in a circle, and has a dark brown patina with reddy brown undertones.
