Joseph Bernard

A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a girl carrying a water pitcher, entitled ‘Jeune fille à la cruche’ by Joseph Bernard (French, 1866 – 1931). This bronze was cast by the lost wax process at the Claude Valsuani Foundry, Paris, prior to 1927. Prior to casting it was signed, stamped and numbered in the wax ‘J. Bernard’, ‘N°16′ and ‘C. Valsuani Cire Perdue’. This cast has a rich dark brown patina with reddy brown highlights and black undertones.
