Turkish Horse, right leg raised, c. 1840
A fine quality, nineteenth century bronze model of a ‘Turkish Horse with its right leg raised’ by Antoine-Louis Barye (French, 1795-1875). This bronze was produced using the sand casting process at the Brame foundry. It is signed ‘Barye’ and inscribed with the letter ‘H’ of the Maison Brame. It has the typical ‘feuille d’automne’ green and brown patina.
