Pair of Basset Hounds, c. 1860

Antoine-Louis Barye

A fine quality, nineteenth century pair of atelier bronze models of ‘Basset Hounds’ by Antoine Louis Barye (French, 1795-1875). These bronzes were produced using the sand casting process at the artist’s atelier in Paris circa 1860. They are signed ‘Barye’ and have a warm brown patina.
