A rare, fine quality mid-nineteenth century bronze model of an ‘Ape and Gnu’ by Antoine-Louis Barye (French, 1796-1875). This bronze, signed ‘BARYE’, was cast in the atelier Barye/Brame and has a orange, brown and green ‘feuilles d’automne’ patina.
