Turkish Horse no. 2, Right Leg Raised, c.1857
A fine quality, rare, mid nineteenth century atelier bronze model of a Turkish Horse with right leg raised on an oval base entitled ‘Cheval Turc no. 2’, by Antoine-Louis Barye, (French, 1796-1875). This bronze was cast using the sand casting process in the artist’s atelier, Paris, circa 1865. It is signed ‘BARYE’ has a warm brown patina with red and golden undertones.
