Turkish Horse No. 2, Left Leg Raised, c. 1850
A fine quality, rare, mid nineteenth century atelier bronze model of a Turkish Horse with its left leg raised on an oval base entitled ‘Cheval Turc no. 2’, by Antoine-Louis Barye, (French, 1796-1875). This bronze was cast using the sand casting process in the artist’s atelier, Paris. It is signed ‘BARYE’ and has a brown, green and orange multicoloured patina.
