Bear in his Trough, 1832
A rare, fine quality nineteenth century bronze model of a ‘Bear in his Trough’, gnawing a bone, by Antoine-Louis Barye, French (1796-1875). This bronze was signed by the artist and sand cast by the F.Barbedienne Foundry, Paris. It was inscribed by the foundry ‘F. Barbedienne Fondeur’ and has the gold ‘FB’ inset seal and has a rich red brown patina with black undertones.
