Tartar Warrior, c. 1845
A good quality, nineteenth century bronze model of a ‘Tartar Warrior’, by Antoine-Louis Barye (French, 1796-1875). This bronze was produced using the sand casting process at the Barbedienne Foundry, Paris. It is signed ‘BARYE’ and inscribed by the foundry ‘F. Barbedienne Fondeur’ and inset with the gold ‘FB’ seal. This cast has a dark green patina with medium brown undertones.
