Spaniel, c. 1840
A rare, fine quality, mid-nineteenth century atelier bronze model of the ‘ Spaniel’, first version, by Antoine-Louis Barye (French, 1796-1875). This bronze was cast using the sand casting process at the atelier Barye/Martin in Paris. It is signed ‘BARYE’ and has an orangey brown patina with dark brown undertones.
