Rooster, c. 1931
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Rooster’ by Edouard-Marcel Sandoz (Swiss, 1880-1971). This sculpture was cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the Robecchi Foundry, Paris. Before casting, it was signed and stamped in the wax ‘Ed. M. Sandoz’, and ‘E. Robecchi Paris Cire Perdue’. This cast has a dark brown patina with warmer undertones.
