Atlas Lion, 1908
A fine quality, early twentieth century model of a lion entitled ‘Atlas Lion’ by Rembrandt Bugatti (Italian, 1884-1916). This bronze was produced using the lost wax process at the Hebrard Foundry, Paris, by 1908. Before casting it was signed, inscribed and dated in the wax ‘R. Bugatti’, ‘A. A. Hebrard Cire Perdue’, ‘1908 Anvers’. It has a warm brown patina.
