Stretching Elephant, c. 1907
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Stretching Elephant’ entitled ‘Il y arrivera’ by Rembrandt Bugatti (Italian, 1884-1916). This bronze was produced using the lost wax casting process at the Hebrard Foundry, Paris. Prior to casting it was signed, stamped and inscribed in the wax. It has a dark brown patina with lighter reddy bronze undertones.
