Orangutan, c. 1919
A fine quality, early, twentieth century silvered bronze model of an ‘Orangutan’ by Edouard Marcel Sandoz, Swiss (1880-1971). This bronze was cast using the lost wax process at the Susse Frères Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed in the wax ‘Ed. M. Sandoz’ and stamped by the foundry ‘Cire Perdue Susse Frères Edts, Paris’. It has a silvered patina.
