Hamadryas Baboon, 1909-1910
A rare, fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Sacred Hamadryas Baboon’ by Rembrandt Bugatti (Italian, 1884-1916). This bronze was cast using the lost wax process at the Hébrard Foundry, Paris. Prior to casting it was signed, stamped and numbered in the wax ‘R. Bugatti, A.A. Hébrard Cire Perdue. This cast has a rich dark brown patina with lighter brown highlights.
