Nubian Lioness, 1909-1910
A rare and important, fine quality, early twentieth century impressive bronze model of a ‘Nubian Lioness’ by Rembrandt Bugatti. This sculpture was cast in bronze using the lost wax process at the Hebrard Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed and stamped in the wax: ‘R. Bugatti’, ‘A. A. Hébrard Cire Perdue’ and has a dark brown patina with reddy brown undertones and green highlights.
