Two Carriage Horses with Rider, c. 1866
A fine quality, rare, nineteenth century bronze model of a pair of carriage horses with Postilion Rider by Isidore Bonheur (French, 1827 – 1901). This bronze was produced using the sand casting process at the Peyrol foundry, Paris. It is signed ‘I Bonheur’, is cold stamped ‘Peyrol’ and has a dark brown patina with golden highlights.
