Condor Cooling, 1921

Albéric Collin

A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Condor Cooling’ by Alberic Collin (Belgian, 1886-1962). This bronze was cast by the lost wax process at the Valsuani Foundry, Paris circa 1925. Before casting it was signed and stamped in the wax ‘Alberic Collin’ ‘C Valsuani Cire Perdue’. This example has an unusual two tone patina, the base on which the condor sits has a rich dark brown patina, the bird itself is a lighter brown patina.
