Going to the Start, c. 1880
A fine quality, rare nineteenth century bronze model of a ‘Racehorse with Jockey Up’, entitled ‘Going to the Start’ by Isidore Bonheur (French, 1827 – 1901). This bronze, signed ‘I Bonheur’ was cast by the Peyrol Foundry, Paris and bears the cold stamp ‘Peyrol’. This cast has a dark brown patina with golden highlights.
