Small Seated Angora Cat, 1910
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Small Seated Angora Cat’ by Théophile Alexandre Steinlen (Swiss, 1859 – 1923). This bronze was cast by the lost wax process at the A.A Hébrard Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed, numbered and faintly stamped in the wax ‘Steinlen’ ’49’, ‘A. A. Hébrard Cire Perdue’ and has a dark brown patina with reddy brown highlights and darker brown undertones.
