Left Clenched Hand, c. 1888
A good quality twentieth century bronze cast of a hand entitled ‘Main crispée gauche’ by Auguste Rodin (French, 1840-1917). This bronze was produced using the lost wax casting method at the Georges Rudier foundry, Paris. Prior to casting in bronze it was signed and stamped in the wax and has a dark green patina and is mounted on a black base.
