Reclining Lioness, c. 1930
A good quality, twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Reclining Lioness’ by Roger Godchaux (French, 1878-1958). This bronze was cast using the lost wax process at the Susse Freres Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed ‘Roger Godchaux’ and inscribed ‘Susse Fres Edts Paris cire perdue’ in the wax. It has a dark brown patina with light brown and green undertones.
