Thoroughbred, The Chaser, 1925
A rare, fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of ‘The Chaser: Sergeant Murphy’ by Herbert Haseltine (American, 1877-1962). This bronze was produced in 1925 and has a rich dark brown patina with reddy brown highlights and is mounted on its original antique green veined marble base and inscribed on a bronze plaque affixed underneath is ‘British Champion Animals, Second Set, IX, Thoroughbred (The Chaser) copyright Haseltine ‘MCMXXV’ (1925). The bronze including the base is 19cm high.
