Young Girl Seated Shielding her Eyes, c. 1900
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Young Girl Seated Shielding her Eyes’ by Aristide Maillol (French,1861 – 1944). This bronze, edited by Ambroise Vollard, was produced using the sand casting process at the Florentin Godard foundry, Paris. It is signed ‘Aristide Maillol’ and has a dark brown patina with some golden undertones.
