Study for a Dancer as Harlequin, circa 1884-1885
A rare, fine quality, early twentieth century, impressionistic bronze model of a dancer entitled ‘Study for a Dancer as Harlequin’ by Edgar Degas (French, 1834 – 1917). This sculpture was cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the Hébrard Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed, numbered and stamped in the wax. It has a reddy brown patina with darker brown undertones.
