Moorhen, c. 1923
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Moorhen’ by Francois Pompon (French, 1855-1933). This bronze was produced using the lost wax process at the Claude Valsuani Foundry, Paris. Prior to casting it was signed and inscribed in the wax ‘Pompon’, ‘C. Valsuani CIre Perdue’. It has a dark green and brown patina.
