Grand Cerf, Life-size, 1929
An early twentieth century life-size sculpture of a ‘Large Stag’ entitled ‘Grand Cerf’, by Francois Pompon (French, 1855-1933). This fine quality cast was produced using the lost wax process at the Valsuani Foundry, Paris, and is signed ‘Pompon’ and stamped with the Valsuani foundry mark. This cast has a black patina with warm brown undertones.
