Cheval de Trait, 1865-1881
A rare, early twentieth century, fine quality impressionistic bronze model of a draught horse entitled ‘Cheval de Trait’ by Edgar Degas, French (1834 – 1917). This bronze was cast by the lost wax process at the Hébrard Foundry, Paris . Before casting it was signed, stamped and numbered in the wax. It has a dark brown patina with lighter brown highlights.
