Cheval Caracolant, c. 1880
A rare, fine quality, early twentieth century impressionistic bronze model of prancing horse entitled ‘Cheval Caracolant’ by Edgar Degas, French (1834 – 1917). This bronze was cast by the lost wax process at the Hébrard Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed, stamped and numbered in the wax. It has a dark brown patina with reddy brown undertones.
