Danseuse au Repos, 1885-1895
A fine early twentieth century, impressionistic bronze sculpture by Edgar Degas (French, 1834 – 1917), entitled ‘Danseuse au Repos, Les Mains sur les Hanches, jambe gauche en avant’. This sculpture was cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the Hebrard Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed, numbered and stamped in the wax. It has a unique reddy brown patina.
