Grand Duc, 1927
A fine quality, rare and important, early twentieth century bronze model of an owl entitled ‘Grand Duc’ by Francois Pompon (French, 1855 – 1933). This sculpture was cast in bronze using the sand casting process. It is signed ‘Pompon’ and has an unusual mottled brown and green patina.
