Pelican, 1924
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Pelican’ by Francois Pompon (French 1855-1933). This bronze was produced using the lost wax process at the Claude Valsuani foundry, Paris. Prior to casting it was signed and inscribed in the wax and it has a brown patina with black undertones.
