Polar Bear, marble, 1927-1928
A rare, early twentieth century, original marble carving of a ‘Polar Bear’ by Francois Pompon (French, 1855 – 1933). This sculpture was carved by the sculptor himself between 1927 and 1928 in marble, probably Carrara, and was signed by the artist ‘Pompon’.
