Cayenne Hen, c. 1906
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Cayenne Hen’ by Francois Pompon (French, 1855 – 1933). This sculpture was cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the A. A. Hébrard, Foundry Paris. Before casting, it was signed and stamped in the wax ‘Pompon’, ‘A. A. Hébrard Cire Perdue’. This example has a warm brown patina with red and golden undertones.
