Dog with a Bone, Study, c. 1930
A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Dog with a Bone’ by Charles-Joseph Artus (French, 1897-1978). This bronze was produced using the lost wax casting method at the Claude Valsuani Foundry, Paris. Prior to casting it was signed and inscribed ‘C H Artus’, ‘C Valsuani Cire Perdue’. It has a brown patina with golden undertones.
