Pierre-Jules Mene

A good quality, mid-nineteenth century bronze model of a ‘Racehorse and Jockey’ entitled ‘Vainqueur du Derby’ by Pierre-Jules Mene (French, 1810 – 1879). This bronze signed ‘PJ Mene’ was cast in the sculptor’s own atelier and has a medium brown patina with dark brown undertones.
