Jeune Fille a la Cruche, 1910

Joseph Bernard

An early, twentieth century, bronze model of a girl carrying a water pitcher, entitled ‘Jeune fille à la cruche’ by Joseph Bernard (French, 1866 – 1931). This bronze was cast by the Claude Valsuani Foundry, Paris using the lost wax process. Prior to casting it was signed and stamped ‘J. Bernard’, and ‘C. Valsuani Cire Perdue’. This cast has a rich dark brown patina with reddy brown highlights and black undertones.
