Pair of Great Danes, Large, c. 1900

Georges Gardet

A fine quality, early twentieth century bronze pair of seated Great Danes entitled ‘Chien Danois et Chienne Danoise’ by Georges Gardet (French, 1863-1939). These bronzes were cast by the sand cast process at the Colin et Cie foundry, Paris. They are signed ‘G. Gardet’ and are inscribed ‘Colin Paris’. They have a brown patina with warmer reddy golden undertones.
