Mask of Bourdelle as a Musician, c. 1916
A good quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Mask of the artist as a Musician’ by Emile Antoine Bourdelle (French, 1861-1929). This sculpture was produced in bronze by the lost wax process, at the A. Valsuani Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed: ‘© by Bourdelle’ and inscribed ‘A. Valsuani’ ‘Cire Perdue’. It has a dark brown and green patina with lighter undertones.
